Puerto Rico earthquake street aftermath Jan 2020

Earthquakes have been rolling through Puerto Rico since December 28th, the largest of which was a 6.4 magnitude in the early hours of January 7th. As the island is still in the process of recovery from Hurricane Maria and many of its residents still are experiencing post-traumatic effects, the earthquakes will likely intensify the effects on many.

Power is out on most of the island and initial estimates put damage from the earthquakes at more than $3.1 billion. In Guanica alone, at least 148 homes have been impacted, from structural damage to complete collapse. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is on the ground assessing the situation and is processing an initial grant request. Please join PDA by supporting this response with gifts to DR000015—GIVE NOW.
