Pentecost Edition

This month has me thinking about the Power of Pentecost. It’s the theme of the first-ever 1001 Photo Challenge (submission details below), and we chose it because we are celebrating the Holy Spirit’s work in calling new disciples to follow Jesus through new communities of worship and witness. Thousands of years past that first Pentecost, God is still blowing fresh winds that revive and embolden faithful disciples. God is still touching us with holy fire, courageous imaginations and deep love for our neighbors.

Thanks for supporting the work of the Spirit through 1001 New Worshiping Communities. We hope you enjoy reading about the Spirit’s recent work among us.

We invite you to join us on this journey to become a Matthew 25 church

Jesus calls us to act boldly and compassionately to serve people who are hungry, oppressed, imprisoned and poor. We rejoice how our re-energized faith can unite all Presbyterians for a shared and holy purpose: our common identity to do mission. Over 900 churches and mid councils have accepted the Matthew 25 invitation to help our denomination become a more relevant presence in the world by building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism and eradicating systemic poverty.
